Family Adventures in the Bush

Children at Jaci's

Safari is for Everyone

At Jaci's, we believe that safari is an experience best shared across generations. Children aren't just welcomed - they're celebrated, with programmes designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lifelong memories in the African bush.

From tracking animal prints to earning their Junior Ranger badge, young explorers at Jaci's are given the space to learn, discover, and fall in love with the wild.

Age Guidelines

We welcome children of all ages at Jaci's, with tailored experiences and safety protocols designed for different age groups.

Children rates apply to those between 0 and 12 years. Ages 13 years and older are charged the applicable adult rate.

0-5

Infants & Toddlers

Welcome in our private-use Villas and Safari Suite Expeditions.

In our Villas, younger children can enjoy a more flexible family safari experience, with a private vehicle, private chef, early meals and adaptable daily scheduling. In our Safari Expedition Suites, children aged 0–5 do not join scheduled morning or evening game drives. Instead, we offer a child-minding service during game drives, early dining, and a dedicated ‘Bumble’ Drive after breakfast.

6-12

Young Explorers

The perfect age for our Junior Ranger programme, Safari Pups packs, and hands-on bush experiences. Game drives are adapted to keep younger guests engaged and excited.

13+

Teens

Old enough to join bush walks (from age 16), participate in photography safaris, and engage deeply with conservation topics and wildlife tracking.

Junior Rangers Programme

Earn Your Stripes

Junior Rangers Programme

Our Junior Ranger course is designed to turn young guests into confident bush explorers, teaching them about animal tracking, identification, bird calls, and responsible wildlife viewing.

Led by our experienced guides, the programme includes hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and plenty of time in the field. At the end of their stay, Junior Rangers receive an official certificate and venture hat to mark their achievement.

Safari Pups Packs

Adventure Ready

Safari Pups Packs

Every young explorer receives their very own Safari Pups Pack on arrival - created to make their bush experience even more fun, hands-on and memorable. Inside, they'll find their Junior Ranger Course, an activity book, notebook and pencils to encourage curiosity, observation and creativity throughout their stay.

As they complete their activities and learn more about the bush, they'll earn their very own Adventure Bucket Hat, a special keepsake to take home from their safari at Jaci's.

Safety & Guidelines

The safety and wellbeing of our youngest guests is our top priority. We ask all families to follow these important guidelines:

Supervision: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, including in villas, around pools, and during game drives.
Bush Walks: Children under 16 are not permitted on bush walks. Guests over 60 require a doctor's note.
Wildlife Viewing: Children must remain seated during game drives and follow guide instructions at all times.
River Path Walk: Children must stay close to supervising adults, not run ahead, and watch the ground underfoot.
Pool Safety: Parents are responsible for their children's safety around all pool areas.

Our team is always available to answer questions and provide guidance to ensure a safe, memorable family safari.
