Easily Accessible by Air or Road
Whether you choose to fly directly or enjoy a self-drive adventure, Jaci's Private Lodge is easily accessible by both air and road. We're happy to arrange private road transfers or charter flights upon request (additional costs apply).
Madikwe Game Reserve
Option 1 - Air Travel
Scheduled & Charter Flights
Federal Airlines operates daily flights from OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) to Madikwe Game Reserve's Eastern Airstrip. We can also arrange private charter flights on request (additional costs apply).
Travel Times
- OR Tambo → Eastern Airstrip±55 minutes
- Eastern Airstrip → Jaci's Lodges±15-minute road transfer
- OR Tambo → Jaci's Lodges (road transfer)±4.5 hours

Do not follow GPS blindly
Typing “Jaci’s Private Lodge” into Google Maps will route you along incorrect and unsafe roads. Use the directions below or our official Google Maps link.
From Johannesburg via Molatedi Gate
JHB Directions + Access (PDF)3.5 – 4 hours
- 1From OR Tambo International Airport, follow R21 Pretoria / Kempton Park signs.
- 2Join N1 North / Polokwane towards Pretoria.
- 3Take the N4 / Bakwena Platinum Highway towards Rustenburg (toll road).
- 4Pass through 3 toll gates and Rustenburg town.
- 5±6 km after Rustenburg, take the Sun City / Phokeng off-ramp.
- 6Drive through Boshoek (last refuel opportunity). Continue straight, do not turn to Sun City.
- 7Follow R565 for ±39 km, passing Black Rhino Reserve & Pilanesberg Platinum Mine.
- 8Turn left at Kayakulu (tar road).
- 9Continue straight along D548 for ±25 km until a T-junction.
- 10Turn right, sign-posted Derdepoort, for ±10 km.
- 11Pass Obakeng Village (left) - continue straight for ±10 km.
- 12Turn left (due to road closure) towards Madikwe / Molatedi Gate.
- 13Drive straight through Molatedi Village (road changes to gravel), then over the Marico River (±14 km).
- 14Continue straight to the 1st boom gate, then Molatedi Gate (±7 km).
- 15Sign in at the gate. Turn immediately right and follow signs to Jaci's Lodges.
From Gaborone - Route 1: Via Tlokweng Border Post

- 1From Gaborone city centre, drive to the Tlokweng Border Post.
- 2Complete customs and immigration formalities, then continue towards Zeerust.
- 3After approximately 10 km, look out for the Abjaterskop Gate entrance to Madikwe Game Reserve on your left.
- 4From here, follow signs to Molatedi Gate. Once visible, turn left and follow signs to Jaci's Lodges.
From Gaborone - Route 2: Via Sikwane Border Post
Gaborone Directions + Access (PDF)±2 hours, including ±50 min through the reserve
- 1Take the Francistown Road out of Gaborone.
- 2Look out for the turnoff to Odie on the right.
- 3Drive through Odie (road changes from tar to gravel) until you reach a T-junction. Turn right.
- 4Continue straight to the Sikwane Border Post.
- 5Complete customs and immigration, then continue towards Derdepoort.
- 6Pass the Derdepoort General Dealer (on your left), continue straight at the four-way stop.
- 7Arrive at the Derdepoort Gate entrance to Madikwe Game Reserve.
- 8From here, follow the signs to Jaci's Lodges.

Open 06h00 – 18h00. Arrivals or departures outside these hours require a pre-arranged escorted trip:
- Molatedi GateR750 per vehicle

Good to Know
- ●Confirm road conditions and your route on the day of travel.
- ●There is no fuel inside the reserve - fill up at Boshoek.
- ●Drive carefully through villages - watch for pedestrians, children, and stray animals.
- ●WhatsApp the lodge when passing Boshoek so we can track your arrival.
